Unlike traditional ribbon microphones, the RNR1 delivers an extended frequency response while preserving the smooth, natural warmth that ribbon microphones are known for.

Its handcrafted 2.5-micron aluminum ribbon, custom Rupert Neve-designed transformers, and active Class-A electronics provide outstanding detail, low noise, and exceptional transient response. The figure-8 pickup pattern captures a spacious and realistic sound, making it ideal for studio vocals, orchestral instruments, acoustic guitars, brass, strings, drum overheads, piano, and guitar amplifiers. Powered by 48V phantom power, the RNR1 offers higher output and greater consistency than passive ribbon microphones. A built-in 100 Hz low-cut filter helps reduce unwanted low-frequency rumble and proximity effect, while the included custom shock mount minimizes vibrations for clean recordings.
